NTSB Factual Report

According to the pilot, "I was on final for 27R at KTMB. I had a blackout. I was already having [a] headache and feeling feverish. I woke up when I got a bump at the time when the airplane hit the ground. I called the tower for assistance. That might be due to dehydration as I didn't have [any] water.".

Examination of the airplane by an FAA inspector found substantial damage to the nose wheel, prop and wings. There were no mechanical problems reported by the pilot or discovered during the post-accident examination of the airplane.

NTSB Probable Cause

The pilot's loss of consciousness while on final approach to land, resulting in an uncontrolled descent, and a hard landing on the runway.
