On September 17, 2006, about 1106 Pacific daylight time, a Mooney M20J, N1157N, experienced a hard landing at French Valley Airport (F70), Temecula, California. The owner/pilot was operating the airplane under the provisions of 14 CFR Part 91. The student pilot, the sole occupant, was not injured; the airplane sustained substantial damage. The cross-country instructional flight departed Pauma Valley Air Park, Pauma Valley, California, about 1100. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and no flight plan had been filed.
