An examination of the airplane showed the airplane's vertical stabilizer and rudder crushed downward. Additionally the airplane's nose wheel was bent aft, the upper cowling was bent, and the propeller showed torsional bending and chordwise scratches.

The pilot's failure to maintain control of the airplane during the aborted takeoff. Factors contributing to the accident were the low airspeed and the pilot's improper in-flight planning.
