On August 3, 2006, at 1155 eastern daylight time, a Cessna 172S, N124CK, registered to Spirit Aircraft LLC, operating as a 14 CFR Part 91 instructional flight, experienced an on ground collision with an embankment on landing roll out at Thomson-McDuffie County Airport, Thomson, Georgia.
