The pilot reported that he was landing after a local flight. He stated that during the landing flare he “stalled the plane about 10 feet AGL [above ground level].” The airplane sustained substantial damage when the right wing tip contacted the ground. The pilot stated that he did not know that the right brake system had been damaged. The airplane exited the runway and the pilot added power to gain airspeed. The left wing contacted the runway. The pilot requested a go-around. The second attempt to land was uneventful “without further damage to the aircraft.” The air traffic controller requested that the pilot make a 180-degree turn and taxi to the ramp. As the pilot stopped, he realized that he did not have right brakes and reported it to the air traffic controller. The pilot’s accident report listed no pre-impact mechanical malfunctions with the airplane.
The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during landing, which resulted in a stall.
