On September 22, 2016, about 1400 central daylight time (CDT), a Vans RV9A, N699RV, experienced a fluctuation of fuel pressure and partial loss of engine power during cruise flight. The pilot diverted to Cushing Field Ltd Airport, Newark, Illinois. The airplane stalled approximately 10 feet above the grass runway resulting in substantial damage to the fuselage.
