NTSB Factual Report

On June 16, 2001, at 1130 central daylight time, a Shanklin RV6-A, N76MS, piloted by a student pilot, received substantial damage during landing when the airplane nosed over at the Ralph E. Koch Airport (61Y), Poseyville, Indiana. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The 14 CFR Part 91 student solo flight was not operating on a flight plan. The student pilot was seriously injured. The flight departed from the Daviess County Airport, Washington, Indiana, at 1100, en route to 61Y.

The pilot reported that he stalled the airplane approximately 6 feet agl during landing.
