On July 8, 2017, about 1050 central daylight time, a Beech Bonanza V35, N6257V, registered to Gas Corporation of America of Wichita Falls, Texas, sustained substantial damage following a forced landing after a loss of engine power in the vicinity of Walters, Oklahoma. The airline transport rated pilot and one passenger sustained minor injuries. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed. The flight was being operated under the provisions of Federal Code of Regulations Part 91. The flight originated at 1040 from Kickapoo Downtown Airport (CWC), Wichita, Falls, Texas, and was enroute to Lawton, Oklahoma.
The pilot reported that about 10 minutes after departing CWC, the oil pressure went to zero and the engine failed. He executed a forced landing to a farm field, about 1-mile south of the Walters Airport (OK12). The pilot and passenger exited the airplane with minor injuries. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the firewall and lower fuselage.
Inspection of the airplane after the accident revealed a hole above the #4 cylinder. Review of the aircraft logbooks showed that all engine cylinders were replaced about 10 flight hours prior to the accident flight. The airplane and engine have been transported to a local facility for further inspection.
