NTSB Factual Report

On October 18, 2016, about 1020 central daylight time (CDT), a Stinson 108, N97634, experienced a loss of control during a second landing attempt in high-gust wind conditions at Austin Executive Airport (EDC), Austin, Texas. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the left wing and aileron. The private pilot, the sole occupant, was not injured. The airplane was privately registered and operated under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the flight, and no instrument flight rules flight plan was filed.
