On September 11, 2006, at 2048 mountain daylight time, a Beech B36TC, N2153R, sustained substantial damage after colliding with a deer during the takeoff roll at the Cedar City Regional Airport, Cedar City, Utah. The pilot/operator of the airplane intended to depart Cedar City and conduct a visual flight rules (VFR) night flight under the provisions of Title 14, CFR Part 91, when the accident occurred. The commercial pilot, the sole occupant of the airplane, was not injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the flight.
In a written statement dated September 20, the pilot reported that the airplane collided with a deer during the takeoff roll on runway 2. The pilot reported that after colliding with the deer, he aborted the takeoff and taxied back to a hanger facility without further incident.
