On July 14, 2017, about 1948 mountain daylight time, a Cirrus Design Corp SR22, N754AP, sustained substantial damage during a forced landing after a reported loss of oil pressure while on final to the Ogden-Hinckley Airport (OGD) Ogden, Utah. The airplane was registered to Alpha Papa LLC and operated by the pilot under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. The pilot was not injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed for the personal flight. The local flight departed North Las Vegas Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, at an undetermined time.
According to the pilot, he was unable to maintain altitude and was too low to deploy the airplane's parachute. Therefore, he decided to land on a nearby open field. During the landing sequence, the airplane's left wing sustained substantial damage.
The airplane was recovered to a secure storage facility for further examination.
