On July 30, 2016, about 1100 central daylight time (CDT), a Larry Boam Rans S7, N6271X, departed the runway during takeoff from Whittman Regional Airport (KOSH), Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the wing struts and fuselage. The private pilot, and sole occupant onboard, was not injured.
